Privacy Policy

Last updated: August 2026

This policy governs how TKLN Consulting collects, uses, and protects personal information across our website, readiness assessments, and client engagements — including the Data Protection Readiness Assessment (a School Data Protection & Compliance Initiative / SDPCI programme). It is written to meet the standards we hold our own clients to under the Nigeria Data Protection Act (NDPA) 2023.

1. Who We Are

TKLN Consulting is a leadership, data protection, and AI adoption consultancy based in Abuja, Nigeria, and an arm of The King Leadership Network (TKLN). Our principal is a certified Data Protection Officer (DPO). We are the Data Controller for the personal information described in this policy.

2. What Information We Collect

When you use our Readiness Assessments, contact forms, or engage us directly, we may collect:

We do not knowingly collect sensitive personal data about students or beneficiaries through these tools — assessments are completed by staff, leadership, or administrators about their organization's practices, not about individual children or service users.

3. How We Use Your Information

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use your assessment responses for advertising or share them with third parties for marketing purposes.

4. Who We Share Information With

We use a small number of trusted service providers to operate our assessments and communications:

Where these providers process data outside Nigeria, we take reasonable steps to ensure your information continues to receive an appropriate standard of protection, consistent with NDPA requirements on cross-border data transfer.

5. How Long We Keep Your Information

We retain assessment and contact records for as long as reasonably necessary to provide our services, maintain business records, and meet legal obligations — typically no longer than 24 months from your last interaction with us, unless you become an active client, in which case standard client-record retention applies. You may request earlier deletion at any time (see Section 7).

6. Your Rights Under the NDPA

As a Nigerian data subject, you have the right to:

To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the details in Section 9.

7. Cookies & Session Storage

Our assessment tools use your browser's local sessionStorage to save your progress temporarily (so a page refresh doesn't lose your answers). We do not use tracking cookies or third-party advertising pixels on these tools.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy as our services or legal obligations evolve. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of our assessments or website after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.

TKLN Consulting's principal is a certified Data Protection Officer. Our organization's DPCO (Data Protection Compliance Organization) licensing is currently in process — formal NDPC registration and filing, where required, are routed through a licensed DPCO partner in the meantime.

This policy is a good-faith standard template reflecting current NDPA obligations. It is not a substitute for independent legal review, and we recommend having qualified counsel review it against your specific circumstances before relying on it for formal compliance purposes.
