1. Who We Are
TKLN Consulting is a leadership, data protection, and AI adoption consultancy based in Abuja, Nigeria, and an arm of The King Leadership Network (TKLN). Our principal is a certified Data Protection Officer (DPO). We are the Data Controller for the personal information described in this policy.
2. What Information We Collect
When you use our Readiness Assessments, contact forms, or engage us directly, we may collect:
- Identity & contact information: full name, role/title, email address, WhatsApp/phone number
- Organizational information: school, startup, or organization name, type, size, and location
- Assessment responses: your answers to readiness/compliance questions, and the resulting score and tier
- Technical information: basic session data (e.g. temporarily stored in your browser via
sessionStorageso you don't lose progress if you navigate back during an assessment — this is cleared when you close your browser tab and is never transmitted to a server on its own)
We do not knowingly collect sensitive personal data about students or beneficiaries through these tools — assessments are completed by staff, leadership, or administrators about their organization's practices, not about individual children or service users.
3. How We Use Your Information
- To generate and personalise your readiness report and score
- To follow up and offer the free consultation included with every assessment
- To provide, scope, and deliver any programme or engagement you request
- To improve our programmes and materials, using aggregated, non-identifying trends where possible
- To meet our own legal and contractual obligations
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use your assessment responses for advertising or share them with third parties for marketing purposes.
4. Who We Share Information With
We use a small number of trusted service providers to operate our assessments and communications:
- Airtable (record storage for assessment responses)
- WhatsApp / Meta (when you choose to contact us or receive your report via WhatsApp — governed by WhatsApp's own privacy terms once a message is sent)
- Our own secure server infrastructure, for logging and backup
Where these providers process data outside Nigeria, we take reasonable steps to ensure your information continues to receive an appropriate standard of protection, consistent with NDPA requirements on cross-border data transfer.
5. How Long We Keep Your Information
We retain assessment and contact records for as long as reasonably necessary to provide our services, maintain business records, and meet legal obligations — typically no longer than 24 months from your last interaction with us, unless you become an active client, in which case standard client-record retention applies. You may request earlier deletion at any time (see Section 7).
6. Your Rights Under the NDPA
As a Nigerian data subject, you have the right to:
- Access the personal information we hold about you
- Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete information
- Request deletion of your information, subject to any legal retention requirements
- Object to or restrict certain processing
- Withdraw consent at any time, where processing is based on consent
- Lodge a complaint with the Nigeria Data Protection Commission (NDPC) if you believe your rights have been violated
To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the details in Section 9.
7. Cookies & Session Storage
Our assessment tools use your browser's local sessionStorage to save your progress temporarily (so a page refresh doesn't lose your answers). We do not use tracking cookies or third-party advertising pixels on these tools.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy as our services or legal obligations evolve. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of our assessments or website after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
